Nokian's roots go back all the way to 1898, when Suomen Gummitehdas Oy, or the Finnish Rubber Factory, was established. Passenger car tire production began in 1932, and Nokian produced the world's first winter tire in 1934. The company's best-known line, the Nokian Hakkapeliitta, was launched in 1936. Since then, Nokian has continued to build the best winter tires in the world, and has created a entirely new tire category with the  All-Weather WR line.   These 4-season tires carry the Severe Service winter rating.
